It seems like just a few weeks ago, we were still shoveling snow, but summer is just around the corner. And whether you like to read under a hot sun or sitting in air-conditioned comfort, the Stoughton Public Library has plenty of options, and some fun along the way.
The Summer Library Program begins Wednesday, June 1 and runs through Friday, Aug. 19. This year features free books and local vouchers for children and teens, and the chance to win grand prizes.
Children can win art kits, Lego sets, a Razor scooter, and more, while teens could win a gift card to Itty Bitty Bookstore, Gemini Games or Flipped Table Games. Adults can win an Itty Bitty Bookstore gift card or one of 10 tote bags containing this year’s Go Big Read title, “How the Word is Passed,” by Clint Smith.
Children (0-10) and adults (18+) can register online at stolib.org/slp. You can log your reading online, or download the Beanstack Tracker app on your device if you like. The library also has paper logs if you prefer not to use Beanstack.
Teens (11-17), register at the Adult Services Desk on the top floor. (Teens won’t be using Beanstack this summer.) Teens can also pick up a scratch-off ticket every time they visit for a chance to win more prizes!
The library has plenty of fun programs for all ages planned, including Dinosaur Dimensions on June 23, an all ages Polka Party on June 25, a Teen Murder Mystery night on July 15, and two interactive family movies on June 29 and Aug. 26 (in collaboration with Stoughton Parks & Recreation).
