PS5 restocks are recently inconsistent since some retailers have irregular patterns when it comes to console drops.
In the meantime, we should know that the global chip shortage is still hitting the tech manufacturers so it’s automatic that there will be some problems in production.
On the brighter side, there’s a chance that you can score Sony’s next-gen gaming console this week if all goes according to plan. Here’s what you need to know about the restock events from May 15 to 22.

According to a report by Attack of the Fanboy, several US retailers might drop PlayStation 5 consoles this week. These include Target, Walmart, and Amazon to name a few.
GameStop PS5 Restock
For GameStop customers, the usual restock pattern in the store happens twice every month. Although it’s quite reliable, the retailer tends to unfollow this trend for some time.
Last month, we saw that the local stores released PS5 on the second and third day of the month. However, the same restock event did not take place this May.
We assume that GameStop will just host one PlayStation 5 restock this month, but it’s also possible that it will drop supplies in the final days.
PS Direct PS5 Restock
Somehow, accessing the PlayStation Direct can be a challenge to all buyers, but still, it’s one of the most trusted sites to visit when you’re searching for a next-gen gaming machine.
Usually, the store tends to sell the consoles only once a month. The last time that PlayStation Direct held a restock was on Apr. 25.
To join the event, all you need to do is to complete the email sign-up and patiently wait for the online queue that’s coming. The twist here is you need to have an invitation to score a console, but still, it’s not guaranteed to grant you a sure purchase.
Walmart PS5 Restock
Walmart has not yet released PlayStation 5 stocks so far for the month of May. The last time it released consoles was on Apr. 7.
It is expected that the retail giant will be preparing for the next PS5 wave, but exclusively available for Walmart+ members.
To increase your chances of snagging this elusive console, you can opt for the $13 subscription package.
Best Buy PS5 Restock
We could discern that Best Buy still sticks to its unpredictable drops. Originally, the retailer unveils supplies on Fridays from 12 PM ET to 3 PM ET.
However, the previous cases suggest that the pattern is inconsistent since some restocks tend to occur every Monday or Thursday.
Last month, Best Buy held two restocks so it’s expected that the retailer will soon launch updates for the May event.
Target PS5 Restock
For Target patrons, you can regularly visit its official website to look for the potential PS5 restock updates. Usually, the event happens at around 8 AM ET in the morning.
If you have no luck in purchasing a console online at Target, you can have another option to do — visit your local store for a chance to get one.
Amazon PS5 Restock
Just like Walmart, Amazon is now allowing Prime subscribers to take advantage of the subscription when buying PlayStation 5. We haven’t heard anything from the retailer since its last drop on Apr. 19, but we’re hopeful that it will release supplies in the next few weeks.
PS5 Pro Leak
The never-ending rumor about the PS5 Pro appears to be louder this time since Pocket-Lint discovered that AMD is allegedly working for the next-gen processor of this console.
Sources revealed that there’s a LinkedIn job listing about AMD which indicates that the company is searching for a qualified individual who can develop chips for next-gen consoles.
Since it’s just a rumor, it’s better to take this report with a grain of salt.
